When I forget to play

When I forget to play
I am grumpy like an old man
Who constantly yells at the TV

When I forget to play
I am sad and feel alone
In a world I don't belong

When I forget to play
All music annoys me, even
The songs I love the most

When I forget to play
My pens are alone and forgotten
My paper lacks art or my words

When I forget to play
I lose track of my life,
The sense of being complete

When I forget to play
I will read this poem and know
That it's time to start anew
