#AtoZChallenge - G is for Gratitude

For the past year or so, I have written a daily list of five things I am grateful for in my journal.

I make it into a ritual, writing only after I sit down, take a couple of breaths and then grab my pen.

It is such a wonderful way to celebrate self-care. I often include that I am grateful for my health, or for certain aspects of my health. I write how grateful I am that I was brave enough to go to the dentist, or how grateful I am for pain meds.

It is a moment of awareness of everything that goes on inside of you when you write your list of things you are grateful for.

I have definitely noticed a change in me ever since I started to keep these gratitude lists.

I have become more aware of what is good in my life, and I have become more positive as a result.

What are you grateful for today in relation to your self-care?

  1. Hi Sylvia - it's great you're using the lists to remind yourself of all 'good' things that give you gratitude ... helping others certainly brings smiles to faces ... today - the sun shines, I've lots to do - but will be out walking along the sea-shore ... seeing as I live by it .. lucky me - cheers Hilary

    1. Hi Hilary! Thank you so much for your comment!

Love your wonderful attitude to life! Hope you had a gorgeous walk by the sea shore (I am so jealous that you live so close to it!!)

  2. There is an old hymn that says "count your blessings, name them one by one." I do this when I find life has become overbearing and I am complaining too much. It works every time :)

  3. I've been writing a weekly post on a Friday of the five things that I'm grateful for, I'm really enjoying it but sometimes it's hard. I would love for you to share yours with me :)
