A to Z reflection

I have done the A to Z challenge for several years now, and for some reason, this one was way more impactful than the ones I have done in the past years.

The theme presented itself quite naturally, just as last year's yoga challenge has, and I started the month with the idea that I had to teach myself to take better care of my body (and mind).

During the writing process, I learned something awesome. I've learned that I take way better care of myself than I thought. Maybe that is why this challenge was so good for me, to get out of all the mental processes and just write down in 10 minutes average per post what I thought.

There was one small downside, and that was that I continually forgot to post my daily blog post on the A to Z site, but I found that the way it was set up worked a lot better for me, as I visited blogs that actually participated in the challenge on that day.

I have met a lot of wonderful people on the trail, and am truly grateful for that too. I have to admit that at times my self-care regime kept me from doing even the most basic thing of responding to posts, as I was fighting a major cold for the latter half of the month. Every response to my posts made me smile and feel so proud.

My favorite post of the month was also the most visited, I is for Introvert. I love how the simple act of sitting down behind my laptop every day and write a blog post in one single go impacts myself and, as this post proves, others.

I am ending my stream of words with a simple THANK YOU to the organizers and all that came along and read my blog.

See you all next year!

  1. Hi Sylvia ... well done on completing the challenge and for enlightening us on your self-care regime ... not easy at times. Fighting a major cold doesn't help either ...

Good luck for your writing and blogging future .. cheers Hilary

  4. Sylvia,

Congrats on finishing the A to Z task! I like the fact that this challenge forces me to stay focused with my choice theme for one month. This year was the most personal experience for me as I presented Art Sketching Through the Alphabet from the stand point of a self-taught artist. It was liberating, fun and I'm eager to keep sketching. Thank for you popping in and no worries with the no comments. Here's to another successful A to Z year!

  5. Thanks for your visit. I didn't visit any new blogs during the challenge due to personal issues so I didn't put my links up - it didn't seem right to lead people to my blog when I knew I probably wouldn't be able to reciprocate. I like your theme for the challenge. We all need to work harder on self care - and not feel guilty about doing so. Well done for finishing.

  6. Such a shame I didn't find your blog during the challenge... but that's something I say to someone every years ;-)
Your theme sounds awesome, and hey, no need to visit just in April, right ;-)

  7. Self care is so important, and something that I think a lot of people overlook. It's great you discovered positive things about yourself through the challenge! And also great you completed the challenge. Congrats! I'm also a pretty hard-core introvert, so, we're obviously awesome... ;)
