Finding Stillness - writing poetry

Finding Stillness is a weekly series on my blog on ways I find stillness without meditating. follow the tag to read the other posts.

I sit still and wait
For poetry to seep through me
Distil itself and find its way
Through my body, my fingers
Shaping the words into poetry

I am not a poet
I am a conduit for beauty and love
Shaped into poems that touch me
Furtively written, making me smile
As light shines within the words

My hands shape in silence
Stillness precedes the words
A soft breath opens the gates
And poetry flows like a river
Onto the paper, into the screen
