My journal is in my lap
An empty page awaits
I twirl my pen between my fingers
Stillness sets in my bones
And I write my joy
In bright purple ink
How can writing in this ink
Be anything but joyful?

My pen writes barely awake thoughts
Ideas slip through my fingers
And onto the eager paper
The sheets rustle like leaves
I smile as my handwriting
Becomes a sea of purple
Joyful play becomes life
Awake in the moment
